THE CHILDREN'S HOUR
"Everyday, everywhere, babies are loved..." (Everywhere Babies by Susan Meyers)
"Inside all of us is a wild thing." (Where The Wild Thins Are by Maurice Sendak)
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." (Dr. Seuss)
"If you build a perfect sand castle...a dragon will move in." (When A Dragon Moves In by Jodi Moore)
"I am ecstatic! (That's a fancy word for happy.) We're going to get a puppy-a real one." (Fancy Nancy And The Posh Puppy by Jane O'Connor)
Everyday, everywhere, there are children's books! My lil' cubs have long since graduated from their picture book days, but has that stopped me from holding onto their library? Okay. Okay. Maybe I have donated...ahem...a few..quite a few.. to friends and local libraries, however, our garage would say otherwise.
So admittedly, while going through their stash recently, I realized how many beautiful stories are out there and what if I shared the love sort-of-speak? As a former nanny, mom, and child photographer who keeps children's books in her studio, with degrees in English and Writing, I might know a little bit (just a little) about this delightful genre.
Board books? Picture books? Early readers? Bed time stories? Chapter books? Boy! Do I ever have a library for you! Whew! And they are so fun. Honestly! Oh my stars! I'm so excited!
So sign up and stay posted on what wonderful books I talk about here in 'The Children's Hour.' You might want to check them out at your local library or visit a favorite local bookstore?
Reading is so very important for our cubs. The earlier, the better, right? So sign up and join the Cub Club. I think it will be loads of fun.
